Job Description
The Teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with PASSAGE Christian Academy’s standards.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.

Identifies selects and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.

Assists in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement. ï‚· Maintains accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development. ï‚· Observes and evaluates student’s performance and development.

Assigns and grades classwork, homework, tests, and assignments.

Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.

Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.

Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
-
Encourages and monitors the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies.
-
Provides appropriate feedback on work.
-
Manages student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
-
Maintains discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
-
Prepares required reports on students and activities.
-
Uses relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
-
Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
-
Models spiritual maturity in leading students towards Christ and then spiritual growth.
-
Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and program classification.

Instructs and monitors students in the use of learning materials and equipment.

Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and schools, as measured by PASSAGE Christian Academy district/school survey results.
-
Assumes responsibility for meeting his/her course and school-wide student performance goals.
-
Demonstrates gains in student performance.

Participates in training and presentations about online teaching.
-
Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating.
-
Attends staff meetings and training as required.
-
Performs all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.

Participates in extracurricular activities such as social activities, afterschool programs, clubs, and student organizations as directed.
-
All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and targets established as part of the annual performance planning process or as the result of organizational planning.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
Qualifications/Skills
Education, Certifications, & Work-Related Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree;

Valid Florida Teaching Certificate;

Current CPR/First Aid
-
Teaching and online experience valued;
-
A willingness to share their Christian testimony and instruct others in the faith.

Physical Requirements:

Tasks may involve extended periods at a keyboard or workstation throughout the day.

Sufficiently fit and able to regularly perform bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, pushing, pulling, sitting, and walking throughout the day.

Ability to ascend and descend stairs to access classroom daily.

Moderate to loud noise level throughout the day.

Ability to interact with students during playground activities.
